PAES Peer Review of
Teaching Document (pdf)
Adopted in Spring of 2006, this document guides the peer review process for both
tenured and non-tenured faculty
PAES Peer Review of Classroom Instruction format (pdf) -
in 2002, the PAES Personnel Committee adopted this format for review for
classroom observation. If classroom observation is selected as one of the
methods for peer review, then this is the format to follow.
Persons being reviewed should complete the information prior to the review.
Faculty completing the review are provided with a structured format to follow.
PAES Certificate of Professional Development in College Teaching (pdf) -
in 2003, PAES faculty agreed to issue a certificate to graduate students who
completed specific assignments related to college teaching. Click on this link
for details.
Statements for Syllabi (all in Word, so you can copy and paste into your syllabi):
PAES Syllabus Diversity Statement (REQUIRED ON ALL PAES SYLLABI) Dr. Wendy Naumann, and her PAES Diversity Committee, developed a diversity statement for PAES faculty to put on their syllabi, in order to communicate to students the importance we place on diversity and tolerance. The first paragraph is universal to all of PAES. There are two examples of program-specific second paragraphs (one from School Psychology and one from Counselor Education). Faculty and programs are encouraged to develop a second paragraph that emphasizes the importance each profession places on diversity! (as each group develops its own "second paragraph," why not send them to Darcy - and they can be added to this document. Eventually, we'll have documentation of how diversity is valued in each of the programs within the school!)
"Enhanced" Academic Integrity Statement (NOT REQUIRED) includes the necessary information from the university, with a more rich description of what this means for students.
Mental Health Concerns
Statement (NOT REQUIRED) is a statement that encourages students to use
available mental health resources.
Feedback on Your Instruction -
this website provides dozens of questions about all aspects of instruction.
Click on the ones you want, and it will automatically create a form (that can be
downloaded into Word). Print it off, give it to your students, and get a very
good feel for how the quarter is going. We STRONGLY recommend this for
mid-quarter evaluations.
